Time for a Garden Party-The Boston Celtics Win the NBA Championship!

Despite the New York Post questioning how "big of a ticket" "the Big Ticket" Kevin Garnett, KG scored 17 points in the first half, shooting 8-12 from the field, with 6 boards and 3 assists. Shooting only 29% from the field, the Lakers had more turnovers than field goals in the first half, trailing the Celtics 35-58. And for those who questioned whether or not Rajon Rondo (see photo: courtesy of Getty Images/Jesse D. Garrabrant/NBA) could lead the Celtics at point guard on the parquet floor, well I believe he answered that question.

The Celtics won their first Championship in 22 years tonight; their 17th Championship banner to hang from the rafters at the Garden on the 17th of June. South Carolina's own Kevin Garnett (hey, he just have us a shout-out-"South-Kacka" won his first title, as did Doc Rivers and the rest of the Boston Celtics. Phil Jackson remains tied with Boston coaching legend Red Auerbach with 9 titles. KG's close friend Bill Russell (Celtics legendary player who was on 11 of those now 17 Championship teams) has now crossed the court to congratulate Garnett and the rest of the team. Which "team" is the emphasis here, the Celtics did it as a team. They all played a part, worked hard and are now champs. A great moment for Boston, for new basketball and for all of us at home, because whether it is going to the moon or winning a championship, when people work together as a team, great things can be accomplished.
