Remembering Tom Seaver's Retirement, the "Old Gold Watch from the Media"

Today marks the retirement of one of the Mets' most prolific pitchers, Tom "Terrific" Seaver from the game of baseball. From his first debut against the Pirates (5.31 IP, 6-hits, 8 SO and 4 BB) on the 13th of April in 1967 through his almost twenty-years on the mound, Seaver retired 3,640 batters with a career-ERA of 2.86 and career WHIP of 1.21. But sadly, there was no gold watch from the league for 19-years of service and there wasn't any respect from the media (see video).
